6 Ingredient Chia Seed Bread

November 17th is National Homemade Bread Day and we have the perfect recipe for you to try out, especially if you’re looking for a tasty way to add the Magic of Chia! 🍞 This incredible 6 Ingredient Chia Seed Bread recipe is from our friend Meghan Shookman (@TheShooksLife) and makes 1 Loaf.

Ingredients: 

– 2 C ground flaxseed
– ¼ C hemp seeds
– ¼ C Mamma Chia chia seeds
– ¾ C almond meal
– 4 pasture-raised eggs
– ¾ C kombucha

Directions:

Step 1:
 Preheat the oven to 320 degrees Fahrenheit then combine the flaxseed, hemp seeds, chia seeds and almond meal in a large mixing bowl.

Step 2: Add the eggs and kombucha, mixing well.

Step 3: Pour the mixture into a loaf pan lined with parchment paper (easier removal and no clean-up!) then top with additional hemp seeds. Bake for 1 hour, remove from the pan to cool for 5-10 minutes and enjoy!

Vegetarian Stuffed Jack-O-Lantern Bell Peppers

Spooky season calls for spooky seasonings! Celebrate Halloween with these hauntingly delicious (and CHIA-fied) Vegetarian Stuffed Jack-O-Lantern Bell Peppers!

Makes 4 Servings

Ingredients:

  • 4 organic bell peppers (preferably large and orange!)
  • 1 cup organic quinoa
  • 1 cup organic rice
  • 2 cups vegetable stock (or water)
  • 2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 15-ounce can organic black beans (drained)
  • 1 cup organic whole kernel corn
  • 1 tsp vegetable or olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Mamma Chia Organic Black Chia Seeds
  • Optional toppings: salsa, lime juice, avocado, cilantro, diced red onion

Instructions:

  1. Cook quinoa and rice with vegetable stock in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce heat, cover, and simmer until all liquid is absorbed.
  2. Cut orange bell peppers however you like and keep fresh or cook them in the oven at 357° F and lightly brush with vegetable or olive oil
  3. Add cooked quinoa and rice into a bowl and mix in the seasonings, beans, corn and Chia Seeds.
  4. Scoop into the bell peppers and serve with toppings of choice!
  5. Enjoy this spooky treat with your favorite ghosts & ghouls!

National Freezer Pop Day!

July 8th is National Freezer Pop Day and  we wanted to help celebrate by sharing some quick and easy DIY freezer pop recipes featuring our Organic Chia products! Disposable freezer tubes help make creating these frosty, on-the-go, refreshing snacks a breeze!

Mamma Chia Organic Chia Beverage Freezer Pop

Simply pour your favorite Organic Chia Beverage flavor (we used Blueberry Pomegranate) into the tube and place in your freezer for 1-2 hours. Once frozen, simply cut the top off and enjoy!

Strawberry Banana Chia Seed Smoothie Freezer Pop

Make a large batch of Strawberry Banana smoothie using:

*Feel free to get creative with different frozen fruits and other ingredients!

Blend ingredients until you get a thick and creamy texture. Make sure to mix our Organic Chia Seeds in after blending the smoothie with a spoon then pour into tubes, freeze for a couple hours, cut the top off and enjoy!

Add a little sabor y alegría to your stay-at-home Cinco de Mayo celebration with this deliciosa Chia-rita recipe! Our revitalizing Organic Chia Beverages pair with any tequila (or skip the tequila for a fun, alcohol-free mocktail), making these Chia-ritas the perfect Cinco de Mayo refresher the whole familia can enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 1 Mamma Chia Organic Chia Beverage (we recommend Strawberry Lemonade!)
  • 1/4 cup tequila of your choice
  • 2 tablespoons of Simple Syrup (or check out this DIY simple syrup recipe)
  • sliced limes
  • 1 cup crushed ice

Instructions:

Add your Mamma Chia Organic Chia Beverage, tequila, simple syrup and crushed ice in a shaker. Shake and mix well. Salt the rim of your glass before pouring, then garnish with a slice of lime! ¡Salud!

Take a Hike…Together!

Here is a simple Mini Peanut Butter and Chia Jam Heart Sandwiches recipe that you can include in your snack bag:

Ingredients:

  • 4-6 pieces of bread of choice
  • Peanut Butter of choice
  • Jam or Jelly of choice
  • 1 tsp chia seeds

Directions:

  1. Mix chia seeds with jelly in a separate bowl 
  2. Place peanut putter onto bread with a knife and then spread the chia jelly and onto the other side of the bread
  3. Bring together and use cookie cutters to cut into fun shapes such as hearts!
  4. Put into a container or reusable bag (such as a Stasher Bag) and enjoy!

Bike Ride

A two-seater might be hard to get, but a bike ride together makes for a great time together. If you don’t own, chances are there is an affordable bike-share service in your town, perhaps even offering complimentary rides for new service! Cycling is not only a guaranteed good time, but it’s also an environmentally-friendly way to get some cardio in together and explore more of your town! Go ahead and bring along your picnic basket and stop at the park or beach for the ultimate timeless Valentine’s Day experience!

Some might call it Netflix & Chill, but cliche or not you can’t argue with the money-saving affordability of a movie at home. If you’re already spending money on streaming services, you may as well make it a date!

Here is a DIY Garlic Butter Chia Seed Popcorn recipe to snack to ad some class to your home-theater experience:

Ingredients/Supplies:

  • 1 bag of plain microwavable popcorn
  • 1 large bowl
  • 3 tbsp melted butter OR melted coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

Directions:

  1. Heat the butter (or coconut oil) so that it is fully melted. Cook the popcorn as directed.
  2. Once all kernels are popped, open the bag and drizzle with the butter (or coconut oil), shaking the bag after to ensure all kernels are evenly coated. Then sprinkle the chia seeds, onion powder, and garlic powder, and toss to event coat kernels once again. 
  3. Pour into a large bowl and enjoy!

4-Ingredient Coconut Chia Clusters (VEGAN)

Prep Time: 5 Minutes

Cook Time: 10 Minutes

Cooling Time: 30 Minutes

Total Time: 45 Minutes

Ingredients:

½ Cup Coconut Flakes

¼ Cup Pumpkin Seeds

2-3 tsp. Chia Seeds

2 tbsp. Maple Syrup (Or Honey)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350F
  2. In a bowl, mix all the ingredients together
  3. On a sheet pan lined with parchment paper, drop 2 tbsp. scoops onto the pan
  4. Squeeze the coconut clusters together with your fingers or two spoons
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until golden brown
  6. Tip: If the maple syrup seems to be a little runny, then use a spoon to push it back together after it is done baking
  7. Allow the coconut clusters to cool for at least 30 minutes

Loaded Pumpkin Chia Energy Balls 🎃

Meet your new favorite fall snack! Filled with healthy fat, fiber, and omega-3’s, this dairy-free and flourless recipe is not only easy to make, but extremely delicious!

Servings: 12  / Prep Time: 10 Minutes

INGREDIENTS:

  • ⅔ cup Creamy Natural Peanut Butter

  • ⅓ cup Honey

  • 2 tbsp Mamma Chia chia seeds

  • ¼ cup Oat Flour

  • 1 cup Rolled Oats

  • 2 tbsp pumpkin puree

  • ¼ cup Pepitas

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Mix peanut butter and honey well in a large mixing bowl. Add in oat flour and rolled oats and mix again.
  2. Add pepitas, pumpkin, and chia seeds. When everything is mixed well, use a tbsp measuring spoon to create large “balls” and spread out on a plate. This should make 12-15 bites.
  3. Place in the fridge for 2 hours before eating. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
