June 2012

Congratulations to Kyle Hooks!

mamma chia ambassadorLocation: Southwest
Hobbies: Listening to and playing music, playing and watching all kinds of sports, reading, running, hanging out with friends, playing poker, EATING, riding waverunners, going to the beach
On his iPod: The Black Keys, Manchester Orchestra, Kevin Devine, Bad Books, The Beatles, Bob Schneider, The Chariot, Beastie Boys, Sam Cooke, Envy on the Coast, Modest Mouse, Incubus, Ben Harper, Rage Against the Machine, Cake
Favorite Quote: “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” – Albert Einstein
Favorite Animal: The Arctic Fox
Favorite Mamma Chia Flavor: Blackberry Hibiscus. It reminds me of Fruity Pebbles.
Bio: I was born in Michigan, but I did the majority of my growing up in Houston. I received my BBA in December 2011 from Texas State University where I studied Management. I have the coolest friends and family a guy could ask for. I’ve had all different kinds of jobs from managing a pizza restaurant, to working on an off-shore oil rig. But this is definitely the coolest job I’ve ever had. Kyle + Mamma Chia = 🙂

We are proud to announce our June Ambassador of the Month, Kyle Hooks! Kyle is committed to excellence! Spreading the Mamma Chia Magic with his positive attitude and gorgeous smile! He’s been wowing us since January 2012 and we could not be more excited to have him on the Mamma Chia team! The Southwest is well served by his exceptional customer service and amazing merchandising! We know that when Kyle’s on the job, it’s a job well done!

Kyle, we are thrilled to have you in the Mamma Chia family! Warm thanks for all you do!

May 2012

Congratulations to Sarah Camiel!

Location: Northwest Washington
Hobbies: I love to ride my bike around town with friends, taking my dogs hiking, going out to see live music, Seattle Sounders games, reading, learning how to play the guitar, and trying to be creative.   I enjoy regularly starting crafty projects, but rarely finishing them.   I love enjoying food, and of course consuming large amounts of Mamma Chia to fuel all these exciting activities.
On her iPod: Lately, I’ve been really into the Stevie Wonder Pandora station.   It’s amazing and filled with greats like Aretha, Earth, Wind and Fire, and the Jackson 5.   Other bands that I’ve been playing on repeat for the last year are Mumford and Sons, The Other Lives, Of Monsters and Men, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., and the Shins.   Basically, a bunch of brooding indie rock.
Favorite Quote: “Without deviation from the norm, progress is not possible.” – Frank Zappa.   This is certainly not my favorite quote of all time, but the most thought-provoking quote I’ve heard in the last few weeks.
Favorite Animal: Well, I could try to come up with something clever and exotic, or I could just be real and boring and admit that I am obsessed with dogs.   I have two: a chocolate lab/hound mix named Vader, and a Boston/Boxer mix named Dexter.   They are by far my favorite animals.
Favorite Mamma Chia Flavor: Definitely Coconut Mango.   That stuff is unstoppable, and makes me feel like I’m on a tropical island.
Bio: I fell in love with Bellingham (WA) when I moved here eight years ago, and am still so happy to call it home.   I am back in school once again studying to be a Veterinary Technician and afterwards possibly Vet School, but it’s been a long road trying to figure out what I “want to be when I grow up.”   I’ve been a sea kayak guide, a snowboard/skate shop buyer, a burrito roller, a bartender, a scuba shop salesperson, worked at a nursery (the garden kind), a Humane Society volunteer, and a Mamma Chia Ambassador.   I’ve driven across the country twice, lived in New Hampshire for awhile and went to Alaska for a couple summers, but always ended up back in the Pacific Northwest.

We are proud to announce Sarah Camiel as our May 2012 Ambassador of the Month!   Sarah has done an outstanding job embodying our mission leading in the renaissance of Chia! She joyously shares the magic of Chia with everyone she meets and spends much of her free time volunteering at animal shelters, a cause that is near and dear to our hearts. She is a beautiful soul inside and out and we couldn’t be more grateful to have her as a part of the Mamma Chia family!

Congratulations Sarah, we are so happy to be honoring you!
